Well, I just got my Game Informer, and guess who's the cover boy?

I'll try and get screens up soon, but here are some details:

-Takes place in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
-Most of the screens are in the day with a ghetto jungle vibe (think of like RE5)
-Story is 12 years after MP2 I think. Either the game details the "missing years" of Max or not is unclear.
-Bullet-time is still there, and from what I read, the gameplay is still relatively the same. There is a cover system and more fluid animations now.

The 10 page cover story hardly reveals anything actually. Just a lot of jungle screens, and talk of the original Max Payne's.

Max Payne 3 is one of those games, where you can only really form an opinion after you've played it...or watched someone else play it.

It can easily be a love it or hate it type of game. I don't know if Max payne fans will be pleased or what...

We'll have to wait and see.

Not too excited about the setting. And bald Max Payne looks really weird: what a massive jump from the original Sam Lake look-alike to this. That info doesn't scream anything really positive at all, but of course too early to judge further.

I'm with you guys, when I first saw this, I was pretty 'wtf' myself. As long as the story and gameplay are as good as the first two though, I'm alright with the redesign and change of locales. Though a MP not in New York just feels weird and sort of wrong. And no cool jacket? Though I suppose in the jungle it might be... uncomfortable.

He is a painkiller addict, so him looking all screwed up isn't a huge issue for me. And the setting is interesting, Latin America has potential for some crazy crime stories. Daytime noir? Can my fellow countrymen pull it off? I certainly hope so.
