I know what you're saying, GTA:SA is a very familiar title, and that could breed contempt in some. But I love the series because they really build and build on their foundations without changing what makes it great. Not only do they build bigger, they build better worlds and improve all the aspects of the game. Not only that, but the representations of the individual cities are superb.
The next-gen GTA's going to be a bit of a shock though. Hopefully they'll retain its cartoon look otherwise they could blow it by being too real. GTA:SA still has the edge of unreality that serves to undermine the violent aspect, but push the bar too far and it could just end up being too overbaked.
